Truck slams into 2 buildings

Rayne Chief of Police Carroll Stelly announced that his department investigated a single car crash that damaged two buildings along the “S” curve in Rayne.

On Thursday October 11,2012 Around 11:57 PM, Rayne Police received a call of a vehicle that had veered off the “S” curve and crashed into the former Hello Beautiful Salon Building then hit the Crawfish Bucket. The driver fled the scene on foot after the crash. Investigating officers discovered the 2012 GMC Truck was still at the scene and the driver had fled on foot.

Officers charged: Robert Salassi, W/M, Dob 12/22/1985, 452 Rena Drive, Lafayette with: Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving under Suspension and Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
