The event, which is held twice yearly, is designed to give an overview of the academic, social and residential life programs that LSMSA offers. The winter Exploration Day session will be held on Jan. 21.
Representatives from each discipline including English, history, math, science, foreign languages, sports and arts will be available to speak with parents and answer questions. Also on the agenda will be Student Ambassador led tours of the campus including the Center for Performance and Technology and the Student Activities Center in addition to the residence halls.
Prospective students are encouraged to attend classes while parents participate in sessions presented by Cindy Allen, college counselor, Natalie Istre, director of academic affairs, Derek Little, director of finance and operations, Rolanda Myers, coordinator of advising and student support, Emily Shumate, director of student services, Dr. Mark Ward, coordinator of research and student opportunity, and T.C. Veit, coordinator of student development.
“Exploration Day is designed for students and parents to experience the Louisiana School in a personal way, to experience what we mean by a living-learning community,” said Director of Institutional Advancement Michael Thorp. “We encourage prospective students to sit in on classes that interest them while parents learn about our academic and residential life programs.”
