PINEVILLE – The state has completed transfer of patients from Southeast Louisiana Hospital in Mandeville to Central Louisiana State Hospital.

About two dozen male and two dozen female psychiatric patients were moved. The number of intermediate beds at Central has increased from 60 to 120. Such beds are for patients requiring stays of a month or more.

Six direct-care employees transferred to Central. Once hiring is complete there will be 47 new employees at the hospital, which is about to be rebuilt on a site adjacent to Pinecrest Supports and Services Center a few miles to the east of Central’s current site..
