McDonald and Holland died in a house fire on June 7th, 2012 at 2:45 am. in Crowley in the 1000 block of East 8th Street.
The vigil will be held at 6 pm. on November 7, 2012 at the 7th street park in Crowley (near the old hospital).
Our family will also be offering a $2500 reward for anyone with any information about how the fire started. Anyone with such information should contact Stephen Spring, Attorney, at (225)932-9671. Crowley Police Detective Comeaux along with State Fire Marshal Keith Reed are also working the case. The Crowley Police can be reached at (337)783-1234. We will also have a limited number of smoke detectors and 9 volt batteries for those in need.
Marie McDonald was born at Barksdale AFB in Bossier City on May 27, 1990. She grew up in Iowa. She attended Parkview Baptist School where she graduated in 2008. She moved to Crowley to help with her family business in 2011. She was the manager for two of her family grocery stores, Acadia Food and Cajun Mart. She was 22 when she was died.
Bayleigh McDonald Holland was born July 9, 2010 at Women's and Children's Hospital in Lake Charles. She attended Room to Grow Daycare. She died one month before her 2nd birthday.
The family suspects that there may be foul play involved, however, no evidence or witnesses have come forward to back up their claims.
