Carencro - Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne, LA Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. for James Calvin Doucet, 69, who died a peaceful death surrounded by his family Sunday, November 18, 2012 at his residence in Carencro, LA. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family first.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne, LA.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years who was his high school sweetheart, Mary Lee Mier Doucet of Carencro, three daughters, Karen Domingue and husband Chris of Lafayette, Connie Simoneaux and husband David of Scott, Monica Dugas and husband Jason of Scott, three grandchildren, Lauren Domingue and fiance Brandon Gardner, Connor Domingue, Stephen Simoneaux, one sister, Geraldine Foreman and husband Bobby of Milton, and one sister-in-law, Kathy Doucet of Mereaux.

He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph Doucet and Amy Bellard Doucet, one brother, Johnny Doucet.

He was born Thursday, January 7, 1943 in Acadia Parish, LA, son of the late Joseph Doucet and the late Amy Bellard Doucet.

He was retired from the oil industry and was an avid sports fan.

A rosary will be recited Monday, November 19, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA.

Friends will be received at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA. Monday, November 19, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
