IOTA - Lauren Alyse Dupre of Iota and Jamin Lee Tyson of Lake Charles were wed during a beautiful 3 p.m. double ring ceremony at Point-Aux-Loups Springs Ballroom in Iota on Saturday, November 17, 2012. Brother Randy Dupre officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Raphael and Tracie Dupre of Iota.

She is the granddaughter of Rita Foret and the late Henry Foret Jr. of Iota, and the late Francis and Lelia Dupre, of Eunice.

Lauren graduated from Iota High School in 2009 and is currently attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She will graduate in May 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is presently employed by Postlethwaite & Netterville, APAC in Lafayette as a tax intern.

The groom is the son of Jeffrey and Fran Tyson of Smithville, Tenn.

He is the grandson of Flora Currie and the late William Currie of Kinder, and Katie Tyson and the late Burrell Tyson of Mobile, Ala.

Jamin is a 2009 graduate of Bethel Christian High School. He is currently a full-time student at McNeese State University and will graduate in December 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Escorted by her father, Lauren looked gorgeous in a duchess satin ballgown with a sweetheart neckline. The Victorian corset bodice with scalloped trim was hand-embellished with lace and seed pearls and completed with a row of satin-covered buttons down the back. The full skirt flowed from inverted pleats into a cathedral train.

Lauren paired her wedding gown with a fingertip veil in ivory tulle with beaded metallic edging. The two-tier veil, adorned with seed pearls and trimmed with soutache, was held in place by a pearl and crystal comb.

Lauren carried a Victorian hand-held bouquet of cream and dusty mauve roses accented with hydrangea and mini eggplant calla lilies. The stems were wrapped in ivory satin matching the bridal attire and adorned with pearls.

To ensure a marriage filled with luck and happiness, the bride incorporated all of the traditional items into her wedding attire. Lauren’s paternal grandmother’s rosary, entwined in her bouquet, was “something old,” and her wedding dress was “something new.” Her sister’s pearl earrings and the same sixpence her mother wore in her shoe at her wedding were “something borrowed.” Her garter was “something blue.”

Whitney Dupre, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Ariel Gotte, Katherine Wall and Nicolette Broussard, friends of the bride; Danielle Tyson, sister of the groom; and Taylor Dupre, sister of the bride.

The bridal attendants were clad in knee-length lapis blue dresses in varying styles according to their choice.

They carried miniature versions of the bride’s bouquet with stems covered in satin with French knots.

Laney Perdue, niece of the groom, served as flower girl.

Jeffrey N. Tyson, brother of the groom, stood as best man. Andrew Wall, Quintin Wilder, Mackenzie Daigle and William Stagg, friends of the groom; and Caleb Tyson, brother of the groom, served as groomsmen.

Christian Leonards, cousin of the bride, was the ringbearer.

For Lauren’s wedding, her mother, the former Tracie Foret, selected a platinum knee-length luxe taffeta dress with a sweetheart neckline. The dress featured asymmetrical gathering at the waist finished with a rhinestone brooch, and the ensemble was completed with a three-quarter sleeve bolero jacket.

The mother of the groom, the former Fran Currie, chose an elegant suit with black palazzo pants topped with a blue and black floral print jacket accented with allover glitter embellishments.

Both mothers wore corsages of Victorian cream roses accented with hydrangea and cream satin ribbons.

Following the ceremony, a reception for the newlywed couple was hosted on the site.

The bride’s six-tier cake was filled with raspberry cream cheese and decorated with ivory buttercream frosting and scrollwork designs. It was adorned with lapis-colored ribbons on alternating tiers and topped with a lapis-colored German glass glittered “T.” The godmother of the bride, Kelli Ardoin, served the cake.

The groom’s cake was a two-tier chocolate confection topped with chocolate covered strawberries and, in tribute to the groom’s love of “Star Wars,” an R2-D2 unit made of fondant. The cake was served by Marilyn Anding, a close family friend.

Out-of-town guests traveled from Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Texas and various points throughout Louisiana.

On the evening prior to the wedding, Ralph and Sheila Reed, friends of the bride and groom, hosted a rehearsal dinner at their home.

Following a wedding trip to New Orleans, the couple will reside in Lake Charles.
