Former restaurant owner

LAFAYETTE – Services for former restaurant owner and businessman Wiley Schexneider will be Friday. He died Dec. 9 at age 88.

He was a retired maritime chief engineer and was first owner of the Circle Cafe, across from Borden’s. He owned a roofing and sheet metal business for more than 30 eyars and owned apartments and developed Acadiana Plaza subdivision.

Survivors include his wife Florence and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Martin & Castille.

Banker, amateur golf champ

NATCHITOCHES – Services for banker and amateur golf champion Jim Pierson will be Wednesday. He died Dec. 8 at age 62.

He was senior vice president of City Bank & Trust Co., and was on a number of civic organization boards. He was past president of the Louisiana Golf Association, often partnering with his brother Jay in tournaments around the state. They twice won the State Four-Ball Championship and twice won the Senior Four-Ball championship.

Survivors include his wife Michele and two sons.

Arrangements are by Blanchard-St. Denise.
