UPDATE - Both westbound lanes are now open and the trailer has since been removed. Apparently the truck that struck the trailer, which authorities were still trying to determine how it got there, left the scene of the accident. Rayne and Duson Police were clearing the scene as of 8:30 a.m.

DUSON – Both westbound lanes of Interstate 10 are not moving this morning after an accident this morning near mile marker 91.

The accident involved an 18 wheeler and emergency personnel are on their way to the scene.

Mile marker 91 lies between the Rayne/Church Point and Duson/Mire exits and is about a mile to a mile and a half west of Duson.

Drivers are urged to use extreme caution on the roads this morning, and look for alternative routes when possible as authorities investigate and clear the accident.
