CROWLEY - Katie Brooke Linscombe and Douglas Irving Harrington Jr., both of Gueydan, have announced their engagement to be married at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Darla B. Crochet and her husband, Craig, of Welsh, and the late Robert R. Linscombe. Her maternal grandparents are Oran and Patsy Bergeaux of Hathaway, and her paternal grandparents are Bobby and Cindy Linscombe of Crowley and the late Neva L. Linscombe. She is the great-grandchild of Helen Bergeaux of Jennings, and Gurvis and Elvie Leger Sr. of Hathaway.

Katie graduated from Northside Christian School in Crowley in 2004 before earning a bachelor’s degree in lower elementary education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2011. She is currently employed as a third-grade teacher at North Crowley Elementary.

The groom-elect is the son of Douglas and Debra Harrington Sr. of Lafayette. His maternal grandparents are Rose Miller and the late Larry Miller of Port Arthur, Texas; his paternal grandparents are Floyd and Beverly Harrington of Abbeville and the late Elaine Harrington.

Douglas is a 2002 graduate of Midland High School and studied business administration at Louisiana State University-Eunice. He is the owner of H&H Satellite, LLC of Crowley.

The couple will be wed at St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate the early evening nuptials.

Following the wedding, the couple will reside in Gueydan.
