Rayne - Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Friday, December 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. for Ephire Joseph "E.J." Lavergne, 67 who died Thursday, December 20, 2012 at his residence in Rayne, LA.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne, LA.

Surviving are wife, Yvonne Roy Lavergne of Rayne, two daughters, Chrissy Comeaux and husband Brian of Lafayette, Tonya Bergeron and Dwayne of Rayne, four grandchildren, three sisters, Vivian Boudreaux and husband Percy of Lafayette, Edna Hornsby of Rayne, Barbara Cormier of Rayne, three brothers, Leroy Lavergne and wife Doris of Rayne, Raywood Lavergne and wife Donne of Lafayette, Ronnie Lavergne and fiance Linda Richard of Rayne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lebodier Lavergne and Onezima Gautreaux Lavergne.

He was born Thursday, November 22, 1945 in Rayne, LA, Son of the late Lebodier Lavergne and the late Onezima Gautreaux Lavergne.

He worked for Rayne Rice Drier.

A rosary will be recited Friday, Decmeber 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA.

Friends will be received at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA. Friday, December 21, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m..
