Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Eva Azie Monceaux Broussard, 93, who died Monday, December 31, 2012 at 5:17 p.m. at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.

Fr. Matthew Higginbotham, Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to service time. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Called Aunt Zee by her family and Miss Eva by her friends, she was known for her beautiful handmade quilts and her homemade sweet dough pies that she loved to share.

Mrs. Broussard is survived by her daughter, Bonnie B. Sarver and her husband John of Rayne; one son, Ronald Broussard and his wife Gardenia of Hitchcock, TX; grandchildren, Julie Boucher and her husband David of Williston, VT, Jimmy Broussard and his wife Denise of Lake Arthur, Angela Hayes and her husband Chris of Lake Arthur, Connie Broussard of Lake Arthur and Delmeda Mejia and her husband Manuel of Hitchcock, TX; eighteen great-grandchildren and ten great great-grandchildren; one sister, Anice M. Thibodeaux; special friends, Brenda Broussard, Mildred and Darrel Hoffpauir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Riley Broussard; her parents, Alice and Ulysse Monceaux; three sisters, Alice Thibodeaux, Ament Abshire and Ada Runnels; four brothers, Horace, Herbert, Harvey and Homer Monceaux.

Special thanks to Denise Broussard, Mildred and Darrel Hoffpauir, and Brenda Broussard for the loving care provided during her illness, the staff of American Legion Hospital for their care. Thanks to the Southwind Nursing Home Staff for the excellent care during her last months of her life and Drs. Katira and Saini for many years of care.

Pallbearers will be Drew, Jaron and Ryan Hayes, Connie, Jacob and Jimmy Broussard.
