Elsewhere in the parish, the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Officer has sent out an alert telling residents to stay off of roadways as deputies are working to assist those residents in need of rescuing in the parish. If you need assistance, please call 911.
Crowley businesses, especially those along North Parkerson Avenue north of the Court Circle, have sent out alerts via Facebook and text message to travelers to avoid the road if possible or at least travel at a slow speed. Cars traveling down the road that is now flooded that the cars are causing water to rush into their businesses that are already on the brink of flooding alone.
You can find a link to the Louisiana State Police's website concerning road closures on the top of our homepage. As of now, eight major highways in the parish have been closed due to high waters.
If you must get out and want to check on other road closures, you can call 511 on your cell phone for up to date information.
