Rayne - Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monday, January 14, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. for Louise Zaunbrecher Carpenter, 97, who died Friday, January 11, 2013 in Rayne Guest Home, Rayne, LA.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne, LA.

Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Carpenter Miller of Rayne, one granddaughter, Stacy Marie Miller of Lafayette, one grandson, Ryan Leonard Miller and wife Valerie Jo of Bellevue, NE, one great granddaughter, Alyssa Jo Belitz of Bellevue, NE, one sister, Patricia Zaunbrecher of Rayne, one brother, Bernard Zaunbrecher of Rayne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Barber Carpenter, parents, Karl Zaunbrecher, Sr. and Helena Frey Zaunbrecher, four sisters, Stephanie Zaunbrecher, Teresa Z. Bailey, Eleanor Z. Ousse and Julia L. Zaunbrecher, four brothers, John Zaunbrecher, Karl Zaunbrecher, Jr., Hubert Zaunbrecher and Thomas Philip Zaunbrecher.

She was born Monday, March 1, 1915 in Branch, LA, Daughter of the late Karl Zaunbrecher, Sr. and the late Helena Frey Zaunbrecher.

Mrs. Carpenter was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Rayne, LA. She studied at Hotel Dieu in New Oerleans, LA where she received a degree as a Registered Nurse. She later received a degree as a Registered Nurse Certified Anesthetist at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA. She was an Anesthetist at the Rayne Branch Hospital for many years.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, LA, and a member of the St. Joseph Ladies Altar Society, and the St. Leo Ladies Altar Society in Roberts Cove, LA.

A rosary will be recited Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home im Rayne, LA.

Friends will be received at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA. Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday, January 14, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m..

Pallbearers will be her grandson, Ryan Leonard Miller, nephew, George Carpenter, family, Nick Hundley and Billy Arceneaux, great nephew, Joseph Long, friend, Zane Bergeron.
