BATON ROUGE – Services for former legislator Richard Turnley, Jr. will be Saturday. He died Jan. 19 at age 79.
He served in both the Louisiana House and Senate and was a founder of Legislative Black Caucus. He retired as CEO of the Southern Teachers & Parents Federal Credit Union..
Survivors include his wife Joyce, a son and two daughters.

Former Chevron offshore drilling chief
LAFAYETTE – Services for World War II aviator and former chief of offshore drilling for Chevron Warren Thomas will be Saturday. He died Jan. 22 at age 101.
He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War Ii. A petroleum engineer, he retired from Chevron in 1976, then became personnel director for Central Industries.
Survivors include a son and a daughter.

Pastor, Baptist official
BATON ROUGE – Services for retired educator, pastor and Southern Baptist official Kelly Fitzgerald will be Friday. He died Jan. 21 at age 86.
He was former pastor at Baptist churches in Many, Kansas City, Mo. and Baton Rouge. He was a former trustee of Louisiana College and of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and former second vice president of the Louisiana Baptist Convention.

MONROE – Services are pending for civic leader Louise Altick. She died Jan. 24 at age 72.
She was active in a number of community organizations and named an outstanding woman of Louisiana. She was co-founder of Youth House of Ouachita and a member of the United Way board and cabinet.
Survivors include three children.
