Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Menard passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. in a Crowley hospital.
A native and lifelong resident of Acadia Parish, Mr. Menard was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the American Legion. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Survivors include his life partner, Mary Thibodeaux of Rayne; daughters, Catherine Bearb and husband, David of Rayne, Elizabeth Stelly and husband, Bryan of Rayne, Marie Noce of Maurice, Debby Rhodes and husband, Corey of Humble, TX, and Sabrina Thibodeaux Mouton and husband, Shane of Maurice; sons, Preston Hebert of Rayne, and Billy Miller of Rayne; 29 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Mr. Menard in death were his wife, Willamae Picard Menard; son, Gabriel “Butch” Menard, Jr; parents, Leonard Menard and Effie Navarre; sisters, Rosamae Bourque and Rosalee Menard; and brother, Edward Menard.
