Wrestlers place at Ken Cole, Marcantel takes top honors

The Rayne High wrestling team traveled to Lafayette for the 2013 Ken Cole Invitational.

Of the 50 teams in attendance, the Wolves collected 95 points and a 12th place showing.

Topping the 182-pound weight class was Billy Marcantel who scored a 12-7 first place finish over Nick Schneider of Teurlings.

Not only was Marcantel the lone Wolf to claim an invitational title over the weekend, he was also named the Outstanding Wrestler of Upper Classes.

Other Wolves placing in their weight class were:

Landyn Thibodeaux - 6th place at 126 pounds;

Cody Manuel - 5th place at 145 pounds;

Austin Bohne - 6th place at 152 pounds.

Also scoring points throughout the three-day invitational were Joshua Peltier, Brandon Phillips, Anthony Seaux, Andrew Arceneaux, John Anzalone, Javon Cormier and Brennan McKnight.
