IOWA – The Notre Dame Lady Pios scored 43 points in the first half and cruised to a 76-37 District 4-3A victory over Iowa Tuesday evening.
The Lady Pios improved to 21-5 overall and now, thanks to Crowley High’s upset of South Beauregard Tuesday night, are tied atop the league standings with the Lady K’s at 6-1.
Notre Dame had four players score in double figures in the victory.
Alex Miller led the charge with 17 points. Sam Lyons followed with 13, Madelyn LeJeune added 12 and Gabbie Romero had 11.
Also contributing were Elise LeBeouf with eight points; Liddy Rothermel, seven; Elizabeth Dartez, four and Annie Sarver and Tori Onebane, each with two.
Warriors cruise past Hackberry
HACKBERRY – Kade Miller scored a game-high 21 points in helping lead the Northside Christian Warriors to a 71-30 blowout victory over Hackberry Tuesday evening.
Joseph Trahan and Tracy Wilridge also scored in double figures with 14 and 11 points, respectively.
Ty Wilson followed with eight points, Dylan King and Nicholas Zaunbrecher each added five, Nathan Zeller scored four, Nicholas Martin had two and Jonathan Hermann had one.
Lady Dogs top Pine Prairie
IOTA – The Iota Lady Bulldogs got going early and often Tuesday in a 56-18 victory over Pine Prairie.
The Lady Dogs scored 15 unanswered points in the opening frame and took a 30-6 advantage at the break. From there, they outscored the Lady Panthers 26-12 in the second half.
Brittany Johnson led all scorers with 15 points while Mallory Faul pitched in eight. Jillian Boone added seven points, Taylor DeVille, Paige Soirez and Madison Smith each scored six and Alexis St. Andre had four. Cambri St. Andre and Cameron Crochet rounded out the scoring with two points each.
Yellow Jackets upend Pios
IOWA – The Iowa Yellow Jackets got off to a quick start and never looked back in a 66-37 victory over Notre Dame Tuesday.
The Jackets scored 27 points in the first quarter and took a 40-22 advantage at the break.
Iowa went on to outscore Notre Dame 26-15 in the second half.
Hunter Meche led the Pios with 11 points. Luke Habetz added nine, Alex Thomas and Tre Milstead each had six and Tyler Simar rounded out the scoring with five.
In other action, the Iota Bulldogs dropped a 48-41 decision to Pine Prairie while the Northside Christian Lady Warriors fell to Hackberry, 65-20.
