Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m .on Monday, February 4, 2013. at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Delores “Dee” Chaumont, 68, who passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Rev. Bill Hudson, pastor of Westside Baptist Church, conducted the funeral services.
Burial took place in St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne.
Mrs. Chaumont, a resident of Rayne, was the daughter of the late Abbie Thomas Veronie and the former Fannie Jacquneaux.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Chaumont; one daughter, Donna Chance and husband, Alva, of Beaumont, Tx; two step-sons, Joshua and Jeremy Chaumont; three step-daughters, Kristy and Misty Chaumont and Dorothy Diane Prejean; three sisters, Rose Bearb and husband, Levi, Annia Soileaux and husband, Adam, Sr., and Gale Prejean and husband, Edward, all of Rayne; three grandchildren, Christopher Joseph Chance, Thomas Scott Chance and Tiffany Prejean; and nine step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Fernest “Bubba” Prejean, Jr.; and her father-in-law, Henry Lee Chaumont, Sr.
The family requested visiting hours be observed at Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne on Sunday, February 3, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Visitation continued on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Pallbearers were Thomas Chance, Henry Chaumont, Jr., Robert Chaumont, Claude “Tee” Boudreaux, Raymond Trahan, Buddy Guilbeaux and Lloyd Constantin. Honorary pallbearers were Christopher Chance and Tanner Boudreaux.
