ULL gridder, civic leader

LAFAYETTE – Services for businessman and civic leader Camile “Quack” Quoyeser will be Thursday. He died Feb. 8 at age 69.

He played football and ran track at ULL and was a US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked first with Clarke & Courts, a Texas-based printing and business forms company before forming Quoyeser Inc. He was active in a number of civic organizations.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn and three children.

Arrangements are by Delhomme.

Retired Marine Corps computer chief

ST. AMANT – Services for former head of the US Marine Corps Computer Systems Design and Programming Division Lt. Col. Joseph Mayers, Retired will be Thursday. He died Feb. 5 in Kansas City, Mo. at age 75.

He entered the Marines after obtaining a petroleum engineering degree from LSU. He was a graduate of St. Amant High. He was a Vietnam War veteran and served in all three active Marine Divisions during his career. He held the Bronze Star.

Survivors include a son and three daughters.

Anesthesiologist

NEW ORLEANS – Services for long-time anesthesiologist Dr. Frank Faust will be Saturday. He died Feb. 10 at age 97.

He was a US. Navy veteran of World War II. He was instrumental in establishing the New Orleans Graduate Medical Assembly and a pioneer in the use of spinal anesthesia in the New Orleans area. He practiced at Southern Baptist Hospital until retirement.

Survivors include several children.

Arrangements are by Lake Lawn.

Former hospital comptroller

ALEXANDRIA – Services for former hospital comptroller Marvin “Butch” Easley will be Wednesday. He died Feb. 9 at age 64.

He was a Certified Public Accountant and former comptroller of Rapides General Hospital. He was on the board of Life Share Blood Center for more than 30 years and on the hoard of Shepherd Center.

Survivors include his wife Linda, two sons and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Rush.

Ag/Forestry field supervisor

ST. JOSPEH – Services for long-time field supervisor for the state Dept. of Agriculture and Forestry Frances Redditt will be Wednesday. She died Feb. 7 at age 90.

She was a vocational/home ec teacher in St. Joseph for 22 years, then was Tensas Parish School Food Service and Vocational Supervisor for 15 years. She was Northeast Area field supervisor for the state for 26 years before retiring.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters.
