Crowley –– Walter Carl Nelson, 83, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at 3:26 a.m. at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.

Mr. Nelson was a native and lifelong resident of Crowley. He honorably served his country in the US Air Force from 1947 to 1950.

The family requests visiting hours Wednesday, February 13, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife Ouida Gilbert Nelson of Crowley; three sons, Wayne Nelson and his wife Aileen of Crowley, Bill Nelson and his wife Judy of Rayne, Stephen Nelson of Lafayette; one sister, Shirley Martin of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, Koury Christy and her husband Michael, and Daniel Nelson.

He is preceded in death by his parents Walter T. and Vera Anise Pedigo Nelson.
