Malcolm and Margaret Doucet of Rayne are announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Mary Kathryn Doucet, to Matthew Doyce McGuffee, both of Monroe.

The couple will be married on Saturday, April 6, 2013, during a 6 p.m. nuptials planned at St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church in Monroe, followed by a reception at the Ouachita Grand Plaza, also in Monroe.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dorothy O. Leger of Rayne, the late William “Fats” Leger, and the late Eby and Lillian Doucet. She is a 2006 graduate of Notre Dame HIgh School of Acadia Parish in Crowley, 2011 graduate of Our Lady of The Lake College of Nursing, and is employed as a registered nurse at Hopkins Dermatology in Monroe.

The prospective groom is the son of Rhett and Tina Mathieu, and Tony and Debbie McGuffee, all of Monroe. His grandparents are Carolyn Ann Graham, Fred Spatafora, and Doyce and Linda McGuffee. He is a 2002 graduate of Neville High School, attained a degree in biology in 2007 from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, and is a 2011 graduate from Northwestern State University College of Nursing. He is employed as a registered nurse with United Home Health in Monroe.

Following their wedding, the couple will reside in Monroe.
