Funeral services were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monday, March 4, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. for Michael John Guidry, 60, who died Thursday, February 28, 2013, in the Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

Interment was in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne.

Surviving are his wife, Yvonne Gossen Guidry; his parents, Wilson and Letie Arceneaux Guidry; six children Matthew and wife, Anne LeBlanc Guidry, of Rayne, Aimee Guidry Cormier and husband, Richard, Sr., of Branch, Amanda Guidry and fiance, Scott Doga, of Rayne, David and wife, Crystal Lynn Pellissier Guidry, of Rayne, Laurie Guidry Pellissier and husband, Wilson, of Rayne, Jill Guidry Pellissier and husband, Robert, of Rayne; 11 grandchildren, Richard Cormier, Jr., Tanner LaGrange, Trey LaGrange, Ryan Pellissier, Adrienne Guidry, Emma Guidry, Hayden Guidry, Anna Guidry, Ian Cormier, Ava Pellissier and Sarah Guidry; one brother, Charles Guidry and wife, Sepha; three sisters, Charlotte Guidry Champagne and husband, Cecil, Debbie Guidry Prejean and husband, Kenneth, Sr., and Debra Guidry Barousse and husband, Blake.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

He was born Sunday, January 25, 1953 in Rayne, son of Wilson and Letie Arceneaux Guidry.

Friends were received 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2; 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3; and 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2013, at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne. A Rosary was recited at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
