Driver on bond in traffic fatality charged with OWI

LAFAYETTE – A driver out on bond on a charge of vehicular homicide was charged with Operating Under Influence by Lafayette police last week.

Dallas Fabre, 49, is accused of being drunk when the vehicle he was driving in 2010 ran a stop sign in Abbeville, killing Bobbie Tinker, 65.

Fabre was charged with vehicular homicide with pretrial motions scheduled later this month.

Fabre, was arrested by the Lafayette police when officers pulled him over for driving 58 in a 40 mile per-hour zone.

The officer said he smelled alcohol when he pulled over Fabre on Johnson Street. The report said Fabre “admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages and being under the influence of Xanax.”
