RAYNE - Michelle Marie Miers of Crowley and Jeramie Scott Broussard of Lake Charles have announced their engagement and commitment to be wed on Saturday, July 20.

Michelle and Jeramie will exchange vows during a 6 p.m. ceremony at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Rayne. Father Kendal Faulk will officiate.

The bride-elect is the daughter of John and Pat Miers of Crowley. Her maternal grandparents are the late Buford and Cyril Jones of Chalmette. Her paternal grandparents are Lucille “Shockey” Miers of Crowley, and the late Wallace Miers.

Michelle is a 2004 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and a 2010 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority while earning a Bachelor of Science in nursing.

She has been employed as a registered nurse at Lafayette General Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit for the past three years.

The groom-elect is the son of Michael and Emma Broussard of Lake Charles. He is the grandson of the late Lynn and Charlotte Vincent of Carlyss, and the late Levi and Doris Broussard of Lake Charles.

Jeramie graduated from A. M. Barbe High School in Lake Charles in 2002 and from McNeese State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in health and human performance in 2008.

He is presently employed by Comeaux High School of Lafayette Parish teaching social studies and coaching football and baseball.

The couple plans to reside in Lafayette following their marriage.
