CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held for Carol L. Spaetgens, 71, who passed away Tuesday, April 8, at her home. 
Services will be held Thursday, April 10, at 3 p.m., at St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley. 
Visitation will be observed at Duhon Funeral Home on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service. 
A rosary was said at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. 
Interment will be in St. Leo IV cemetery in Robert’s Cove.
Carol is survived by her husband of 51 years Lawrence A. Spaetgens Sr.; her four children Lawrence “Larry” A. Spaetgens Jr. and his wife Karen Badon Spaetgens of Crowley, Darla Spaetgens of Crowley, Sherry Zaunbrecher and her husband Hugh “Bear” Zaunbrecher of Gueydan, and Jana Zaunbrecher and her husband Jason Zaunbrecher of Robert’s Cove; her five grandchildren Lesley Spaetgens, Jake Spaetgens, Amelia Zaunbrecher, Sydney Zaunbrecher, and Jessica Zaunbrecher; and her sister Berta L. Braquet and her husband Gerald Braquet of Winnie, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. George Bert Linscomb and her brother Darryl Lane Linscomb.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Carol’s name to St. Michael Elementary School in Crowley and St. Peter Elementary School in Gueydan.
The Spaetgens family would like to thank Dr. Karen Smith, the staff of the Specialty Care Unit at Lafayette General Medical Center, and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care of Jennings.
