TURKEY CREEK - Funeral services were held for Melvin C. Fontenot, 90, of Turkey Creek, at the Turkey Creek Church of Christ at 4 p.m., Saturday, May 31. Burial followed in the McCormick Cemetery.

IRBY L. HOGUE JR.
October 24, 1943 - May 31, 2008
BAYOU CHICOT - Funeral services were held for Irby L. Hogue Jr., 64, of Ville Platte, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 3. Burial followed in the Vandenburg Cemetery in Bayou Chicot.
Mr. Hogue died at 10:45 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Meadowbrook Specialty Hospital in Lafayette. He was a respected school teacher for 28 years, having taught in the Evangeline Parish School system. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Morein Hogue of Ville Platte; his mother, Gwendolyn H. Hogue of Morgan City; two sons, Irby L. Hogue III and Christopher C. Hogue, both of Bayou Chicot; one daughter, Natalie S. Hogue Graser and her husband, Clint, of Lone Pine; one sister, Sondra H. Dohmann of Morgan City; and three grandchildren, Celeste J., Clint J. II and Angel N. Graser.
He was preceded in death by his father, Irby L. Hogue Sr.

BAYOU CHICOT - Funeral services will be held for David Glen Ardoin, 43, of Bayou Chicot, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 2 p.m., today, June 5. Burial will follow in the Ferguson Cemetery in Bayou Chicot.
Mr. Ardoin died Monday, June 2, 2008, at his residence.
Survivors include his mother, Georgia Ann Ardoin of Bayou Chicot; two brothers, Randy Ardoin and Jody Ardoin and his wife, Crystal, all of Bayou Chicot; one sister, Brenda Lee Miller and her husband, Jules, of Walker; and one half-sister, Sharina Ardoin of Lake Charles.
Brother Ellis Foret will officiate.

BASILE - Funeral services will be held for Ella Mae Edwards, 95, of Ville Platte, at New Zion Baptist Church in Eunice at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 7. Burial will follow in the Greater Golden Life Cemetery in Basile.

JAKAIRA KYNJATA ‘MAMA BABY’ JACK
Graveside funeral services were held for three-month-old infant Jakaira KynJata “Mama Baby” Jack, of Mamou, at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 4.
Jack died Wednesday, May 28, 2008.
Survivors include her parents, Christopher Paul and Danielle Jack of Mamou; two brothers, Jaekwon and Chris Jack Jr. of Mamou; her grandparents, Dorothy Jack Celestine of New Orleans, Phillip and Patrice Reed of Lake Charles, Erliss and Trudy Celestine of Mamou, Eddie Jason Jr. of Shreveport; and her great-grandparents, Forest and Evelyn Jack of Mamou and Lilly Jason of Ville Platte.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sherryl Fontenot; and her great-grandparents, Joyce Lynn and Cleveland Fontenot and Eddie Jason Sr.

DALE RUSSELL FUSILIER SR.
May 13, 1922 - June 3, 2008
Funeral services will be held for Dale Russell Fusilier Sr., 86, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 12:30 p.m., Friday, June 6. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Fusilier died at 7:10 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at his residence. He loved to fish, and he was an avid outdoors man who loved LSU sports, but mostly loved life. He was also a WWII veteran, having served in the Coast Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Belle Fusilier of Ville Platte; three sons, Benny Fusilier and his wife, Norene, of Opelousas, Darryl Fusilier and his wife, Janell, of Watson and Dale “Rusty” Fusilier Jr. and his wife, Vicki, of Pride; one daughter, Carolyn Daigle and her husband, Sammy, of Carencro; one brother, L.O. Fusilier of Ville Platte; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Father Josh Guillory will officiate.
