Car vandals caught by Crowley Police

CROWLEY – Vandals struck early Monday morning in various areas of the city of Crowley breaking windows on vehicles including a Crowley Police Unit. In all, 20 vehicles were damaged by the vandals causing damage that ranged from $300 up to $700 per vehicle.

“Monday morning was an extremely busy morning for our officers. We began receiving calls as early as 5 a.m. and it did not stop until nearly 10 a.m. regarding calls for damage to vehicles” stated Chief Gibson.

Officers were able to confirm that the majority of vehicles damaged were damaged with the same type of material / rock. Officers also received a description of a suspect vehicle from a witness to the incident.

Later in the morning, officers arrested Kenneth Roche, 17 of Crowley and Gabrielle Henry 17 of Crowley. Both have been charged with 20 counts of Criminal Damage to Property and have been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail pending bond.

In addition to these arrest, a juvenile involved in the case, turned himself in and was charged accordingly. He was released to the custody of his parent. Police are seeking a fourth suspect in this case and hope to have it closed out in the next few days.
