The ceremony was officiated by Minister Donald Williams.
Valerie is the daughter of Ruth T. Hebert Abbeville and J. J. Hebert II of Maurice. She is the grand daughter of the late Dewey and the late Irent Thibeaux of Abbeville and the late Harris J. and Rita Hebert of Gonzales, LA.
Damien is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pervis Suire, Jr. of Erath and Dwayne P. Duhon of Meaux, LA. He is the grand son of Darnell and Jeanette Fontenot of Erath and Ronald Duhon of Meaux and Virley Duhon of Kaplan.
The bride wore a diamond white dress with beadwork along the empire waist. Multi-pleated bodice and a sweetheart neckline contrasted with an unadorned A-line skirt with side and back pleats. The dress also had hand-beaded buttons down the back along with a chapel length train. Her bouquet was a nosegay of brown ranunculuss, white roses, cala lillies and pink hydrangeas.
The maid of honor was Leah Duhon, sister of the groom and her bridesmaid was Courtney Duhon, sister of the groom. The bridesmaids wore chocolate brown satin charmeuse full-length dresses with a twist cross over back, a shirred waistline and a slight sweep train. Their bouquet was a smaller nosegay version of the one carried by the bride.
Serving as best man was Justin Toups, the groom’s cousin.
Music for the ceremony was provided by a Caribbean Mento Band. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Casanova Restaurant at Couples Sans Souci. Following their wedding trip to Jamaica, they plan to live in Erath.
