The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting which occurred Sunday, July 13, according to Captain Keith Dupre, chief of detectives.
Dupre said a male, in his 20s, was shot twice Sunday on Junction Road. He said the first bullet took three toes off the victim’s foot, and the second shot hit the victim’s leg, somewhere between the knee and ankle. He said the shot chipped the bone.
The victim was taken to Ville Platte Medical Center and transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
At press time, no arrests had been reported, and the investigation was continuing.
