THE POST SIGNAL
CROWLEY – The Crowley Fire Department is on a mission. This mission is simple, and for a good cause.
Tomorrow, Friday August 22, will begin their annual barbecue sale to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. “The goal of the department is to raise $4,000 for the cause. All proceeds will benefit MDA,” Captain Chad Monceaux stated, “and if we can do that in two days, we will. If not, we will be barbecuing on Sunday also,” he added.
As part of the International Association of Fire Fighters, the Crowley fire department has been a large supporter of MDA for many years. With each fund raiser the department sponsors, a portion of the proceeds is given to the association.
This year, the department has decided to add a few items to the menu to go along with the meal per request, fountain drinks and sweets. “Drive through service will be provided, and we ask that for larger orders, that customers call in advance and we will have the order ready upon their arrival,” Monceaux requested. The fire department can be reached at 788-4106.
