The Catholic Daughters of Court Father Charles Kirk #1573 held there first meeting of the 2008-2009 year on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 to plan all their upcoming projects.

This year, the CDA will be hosting a Day of Reflection for Senior Citizens during the Lenten Season.

The Catholic Daughters will also host their First Communion Reception, as well as coordinating their annual Brisket Poboy Sale Fundraiser on Superbowl Sunday.

The Catholic Daughters have a brand new project for CDA kids that they will also introduce later this year.

There will be other different projects besides the few that are listed that they will be telling the public about in the coming months.

Special guest at their meeting this past Wednesday was 2008 CDA Scholarship recipient Sara Gatte and her mother Druscilla Gatte.

The Catholic Daughters also swore in their new officers for the next two years.

Those officers introduced at the meeting included Nella Cormier, Regent; Darlene Meaux Vice-Regent; Yvonne Meyers, Recording Secretary; Yvonne Lounsberry, Treasurer; and Rose Schlesinger, Financial Secretary
