Evening nuptial mass ceremony unites couple

St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Eunice served as the setting for the evening, nuptial mass ceremony uniting Megan Elizabeth Thibodeaux and Justin Marshall Dupuy in holy matrimony. The ceremony was held on June 21 at 7 p.m.

Parents of the bride are Mitch and Susan Thibodeaux of Eunice; and parents of the groom are Roy and Carol Dupuy of Baton Rouge.

Presiding over the ceremony were Fr. Keenan Brown, along with Fr. Tom Voorhies, Fr. Edward Duhon, Fr. Stephen Ugwu, Fr. Jim Brady, Fr. Conley Bertrand and Deacons Robbie Leger and Gary Gaudin.

The Ceremony

The church was beautifully decorated for the special occasion.

Black and white hand- painted tapestry banners initialed with the couple’s last name hung outside of the church doors. Six black wrought iron candles draped in white chiffon and white roses graced the church aisles.

Decorative urns of pink gladiolus and assorted foliage adorned the church altar.

Connie Beaugh was the organist/vocalist during the ceremony. Gift bearers were Maggie Richard, Murphy Richard, and Isaac Richard, cousins of the bride.

Altar servers were Christian Richard, cousin of the bride; Tyler Thibodeaux, brother of the bride; and Michael Fiorella, cousin of the bride.

Ushering family and friends to their seats were Ben Roth of Lafayette, Daniel Fiorella of Slidell and Val Duffel of Baton Rouge.

The Bride

The bride, given away by her father, was radiant in an ivory, sleeveless satin, sweetheart neckline gown. The empire bodice of the dress was embellished with embroidery, and delicate lace. The gown was accented with a cathedral-train scalloped at the hemline. Her headpiece was a delicate fingertip ivory tulle veil.

She carried a nosegay bouquet of ravel and akito roses, white stock, pink love lilies, and fuschia tulips accented with french knots of ivory satin ribbon.



The Attendants

Serving as maid of honor was Caroline Thibodeaux of Eunice.

Bridal attendants included Kelly Thibodeaux, and Nicole Thibodeaux, both of Eunice; Kinsi Leger of Basile, Melissa Thompson of Lafayette, Landrum Godfry of Ruston, and Jessica Keller of Houston.

The attendants wore black satin knee-length dresses accented with lace shawls.

They carried hand-held bouquets of ravel roses and pink love lilies tied together with ivory double satin ribbons.

Serving as flower girls were Whitney and Grace Hamilton, daughters of Chad and Tracy Hamilton of Baton Rouge.

The girls wore ivory scooped-necked dresses accented with an ivory overlay and picot ribbon. They carried hand-held bouquets of million stars tied with an ivory picot ribbon.

Serving as ring bearer was Phillip Thibodeaux, son of Mitch and Susan Thibodeaux of Eunce. He wore a black tuxedo with a million star boutonniere.

Serving as best man was Jeff Hudson of Baton Rouge.
