The cost of the trip is a major concern for the band director.
He notes, “This cost, which is nominal for most, is more than the students’ families and our band/school can afford. We are asking for your help to make this experience possible for our students.”
Registration fee for each student is $239, plus travel expenses and food cost. The $239 covers the registration fee and one night hotel stay for the game.
“Any help that you can give in the form of donations would be greatly appreciated,” says Alba.
The band director points out, “This is a once in a life time opportunity for our band students. The students will be able to perform the half time show for the game, and also able to watch the game from the field level.”
Alba adds, “This is a mass band performance with other schools included from all over the nation. The students will not only be able to represent Rayne High School, but the community of Rayne, as well. This will be a great way to publicize the success and accomplishments of our school and city.”
Donations are currently begin accepted at the High School. Checks should be made out to “Rayne High Band, says Principal Bobby Hamlin.
