Richard Sands, Rose Belle Dauphine Richard Sands



Richard Gene Sands, age 78 of Yellville, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

He was the son of the late Paul and Minnie (Sholes) Sands and was born in Burnsville, West Virginia on November 20, 1929. He was the Marine Transportation Supervisor with Pennzoil Company out of Abbeville, Louisiana, where he retired to Yellville, Arkansas after thirty-four years of employment. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Blanche Sands of fifty-eight years; four sons, Michael and Donald Sands, both of Lafayette, Louisiana, Roy Sands of Yellville, and Mark Sands of Shreveport, Louisiana; two daughters, Lea Ann Phillips of Shreveport, Louisiana and Lesa Marie Otten of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandsons, John Sands, Bryan Sands, Windell Phillips, Jr., Richard Phillips, Andrew Sands John Mark Otten and Matthew Otten and two granddaughters, Michelle Sands and Ashlee Sands; and great-grandchildren, Madison Sands, John Logan Sands and Windell B. Phillips III.

Funeral mass will be held Saturday, October 25 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Yellville, with a graveside service in Shreveport, Louisiana at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Autism Association at http://www.nationalautismassociation.org.

Rose Belle Dauphine

A mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Rose Bell Campbell Dauphine, 87, on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Marcellus Catholic Church, Rynella, La. with Deacon Theo Landry as celebrant.

A Rite of committal will follow in St. Marcellus Catholic Church Cemetery in Rynella, La.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel of Abbeville from 7 to 9:45 a.m.

A native of Abbeville, and resident of Avery Island, Mrs. Dauphine departed this early life on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 6:15 p.m. at Iberia Medical Center.

She was a devoted member of St. Marcellus Catholic Church.

She leaves in God’s care, one daughter, Lydia Harrison of Abbeville, and a host of nieces of nephews and other relatives and dear friends.

She is united in glory with her loving husband, Alvin Dauphine; parents, Paul Campbell and Elvina Coloste Campbell; one brother and two sisters.

Active and honorary pallbearers will be friends and members of the immediate family.

The family has requested and is receiving professional care from Fletcher Funeral Home.
