Police make drug arrests

Narcotics arrests seem to be on a rise as Crowley Police continue to fight the illegal industry, which has invaded the city’s streets. Thus far during the month of October, Crowley Police agents have arrested 21 drug offenders on a variety of charges.

“Our officers are working hard to fight this illegal activity. We would like to see it move at a quicker pace, but we must make sold cases that can be prosecuted. Our Narcotics Unit as well as our Patrol officers, are fighting within the guidelines of the law to remove these criminals from our streets” stated Chief of Police K.P. Gibson.

The Crowley Police have made many narcotic related arrests as of late including several at this year’s International Rice Festival. He issued a statement Wednesday for Crowley residents.

“As always, we need as much help as we can get to fight the narcotics problems of our city. Information can be called into our Narcotics Division at 788-4138 or Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish at 789-TIPS (8477),” stated Chief Gibson.
