CROWLEY – Crowley Police have closed out an October 13 armed robbery, which occurred at a South Ave K residence. “Our detectives have been working around the clock to solve this case. This investigation, which originated in Crowley has led our investigators to Lafayette and Livingston Parishes to solve this case” stated Chief K.P. Gibson.

The armed robbery occurred during the afternoon hours on October 13. Suspects were identified and a picture of one of the suspects was immediately run on Crime Stoppers. “The day we ran the first suspect on Crime Stoppers, we were able to affect an arrest on this individual” stated Chief Gibson. “From there the investigation took off.”

“Our investigators discovered that the Lafayette Sheriff’s Office had made a traffic stop on the suspects, prior to their being identified in this case and recovered a weapon. This weapon has been sent to the Acadiana Crime Lab for processing,” stated Chief Gibson. Suspects were identified and placing them at the scene of the armed robbery began.

“Our officers were able to secure arrest warrants for two additional suspects and both have been arrested as of today. The last suspect was located in Livingston parish and has been transported back to Crowley on these charges. Now, all three suspects are off the street and in custody charged with armed robbery,” stated Chief Gibson.

Arrested for this crime were Asha Coleman, 21, of Crowley; Ethel Veronica Sonnier, 39, of Lafayette; and Ryan Pete, 26, of Lafayette.
