A man walked into Maison du Monde Living Center in Abbeville and located what may have been his ex-girlfriend and proceed to cut her with a box cutter, Abbeville Police reported Friday.

The Abbeville Police Department arrested Eldridge Harrison Jr. of Abbeville and charged him with attempted second-degree murder for allegedly trying to murder Treva Campbell, an employee of the living center.

Harrison was booked into the parish jail.

Abbeville Police Chief Rick Coleman did not give a reason as to why Harrison allegedly cut Campbell a few times.

Harrison fled the scene on foot and was later arrested at his residence in Abbeville.

Campbell was brought to a local hospital and does not have life-threatening injuries, Coleman said.
