CROWLEY – It may be early in District 5-AAA competition, but tonight’s matchup between Notre Dame and Crowley High is a pivotal one for both squads.
Coach Derrick Boone’s Crowley Gents enter tonight’s contest with an overall record of 13-8, but they are 0-1 in league play following a 44-39 loss to Church Point Tuesday. Notre Dame (8-13) also came up short in its district opener, falling to Rayne, 61-39.
The girls’ game has just as much meaning with both teams sitting at 1-1 in league play.
Notre Dame’s Lady Pios have been more consistent on the year, winning 12 of their 19 games while the CHS Ladies enter at 8-8 on the season.
The Lady Pios are coming off a 52-17 dismantling of Rayne following a tough home loss to Northwest last week.
The CHS Ladies also have a victory over Rayne but dropped their last league tilt to Church Point Tuesday, 57-41.
