The Town of Duson’s parade committee chairman Francis Mouton surprised Mayor Susie Lagneaux with a Mardi Gras flag Monday in memory of the late Mayor John Lagneaux, signaling the town’s first official annual celebration of the days leading up to the observance of Lent.

The celebration will be focused at the Duson Town Hall Sunday, Feb. 22, with a parade, street dance, fund jumps, live music, and events between 12 noon and 4:30 p.m.

Taking part in the flag presentation were city workers Felix LaBauve and Alfred Onezine who assisted the parade chairman raising the flag for the mayor.
