According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, Tyler Daniel Short, 17, of St. Joseph Avenue, was arrested Friday.
Melancon said the alleged incident took place in Iota in December 2008.
The Sheriff's Office was contacted to assist and following an investigation a warrant was issued for the arrest of Short.
He was jailed under a $15,000 bond.
No information regarding the alleged victim -- age, gender, place of residence -- or circumstances of the alleged battery were provided by the sheriff.
The investigation is continuing.
