The Jets of Northern Oklahoma College - Enid move up to No. 2 this week with 137 poll points and a first place vote, while Kankakee Community College (Ill.) jumps up to No. 3 with 117 poll points.
LSU-Eunice recently picked up two wins over Division I clubs Baton Rouge Community College (La.), 17-4, and Delgado Community College (La.), 12-0. They also fell to Delgado 8-4 for just their sixth loss of the season.
In the 12-0 win over Delgado on April 11, Bengals fans were treated to a very rare sight. Right-hander Chance Mistric tossed a no-hitter, going seven innings and walking just one batter with eight strikeouts. The win improves Mistric's record to 10-0, which is the best record for any pitcher in Division II. He also ranks 17th in the nation with a 1.86 ERA.
The Bengals faces Baton Rouge again this weekend (April 17-18).
NOC-Enid jumps up to No. 2 after sweeping Connors State College (Okla.) 9-8 and 13-7 on April 13. Connors State was a participant at last years Division I World Series and is currently ranked 12th in the DI rankings.
Sean Bignall leads the Jets and ranks 17th in the nation with a .468 batting average. As a team, NOC-Enid ranks sixth in DII with a .366 average. LSU-E ranks fifth with a .372 team batting average.
The Jets will face Redlands Community College (Okla.) in their next four contests with doubleheaders scheduled for April 16th and 18th.
With a 32-8-1 overall record, Kankakee slides up three spots this week to No. 3. The Cavaliers have won 28 of their last 30 games. Jon Dicus leads the Cavs on the mound with a 6-2 record and a 1.67 ERA (17th in NJCAA) in 48.1 innings of work. Bryce Redeker leads the team with a .432 batting average and 50 RBIs (12th in NJCAA).
Kankakee next faces Elgin Community College (Ill.) on April 17.
