Rayne and Notre Dame, co-champions in District 5-AAA, are joined in the playoffs by Church Point, Iota and Northside Christian.
Rayne (19-8) received the highest ranking of all five teams, earning the No. 10 seed in Class AAA. The Lady Wolves will take on Ursuline, the No. 23 seed, Tuesday. Ursuline won District 12-AAA and finished the season with a record of 18-9.
Notre Dame (15-13) enters postseason play as the No. 13 seed and will host No. 20 North Vermilion Tuesday at 4:30. North Vermilion posted a mark of 13-15 on the year and was the third place team out of a tough District 6-AAA that included No. 8 seed Catholic High and No. 12 seed Kaplan.
Church Point (9-15) was third in District 5-AAA and gets the honor of traveling to New Iberia to take on Catholic High as the No. 25 seed. Catholic went 21-9 on the season and won District 6-AAA.
Iota (11-14) slipped into the playoffs after defeating Iowa Thursday in a special league playoff game for third place. The Lady Dogs received the No. 22 seed and will travel to Bunkie for a first-round contest.
The fifth and final team to make the cut was Northside Christian. The Lady Warriors (7-13) finished third in District 6-C, earning the No. 13 seed in its class. They received a bye in the first round and will travel to Harrisonburg Friday to take on the No. 4-seeded Lady Bulldogs.
