Albert and Bonnie Johnson of Rayne are announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Karris Maria, to Jed Lucas Toups, son of Joan Hodges Toups and the late John “Butch” Toups of Basile.

The couple will be married on Friday, June 12, 2009 during a six-thirty evening Nuptial Mass at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Rayne.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and will attain her degree from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May of 2009. Her grandparents are Jasper and Matilda Johnson, Rita Melancon and the late Leo Melancon, all of Rayne.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Basile High School and Spartan School of Aeronautics. He is a self-employed craftsman and owner of Antique Stained Glass of Louisiana in Rayne. His grandparents are the late Helen and Joe Hodges and the late Joe and Dot Toups, all of Basile.
