Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Mrs. Adam Eula (Vida) Bellard, 85, the former Vida Matte.<!--break-->
Mrs. Bellard, a native of and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Meadowbrook Speciality Hospital in Lafayette.
Father Gregory Chauvin conducted the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Church Point.
She is survived by a son, Learlin Bellard of Cankton; a grandson, Shane Bellard amd wife Brandy of Lafayette; two granddaughters, Brandi Pelloquin and husband Brent, and Bridget Fabre and husband Lony, all of Lafayette; and eight great-grandchildren, Christyn and Joshua Bellard, Haydn and Brendan Fabre, and Abigail, Sophia, Libby and Nora Pelloquin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Eula Bellard; a son, Warren Bellard; her parents, Joseuses and Marie LeBlanc Matte; and a daughter-in-law, Marie Lavergne Bellard.
The family received visitors beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 17, and continued uninterrupted until the time of the services on Saturday.
A recitation of the Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 17, by Deacon Jim Cormier.
Pallbearers were David Richard, Shane and Darren Bellard, Brent Pelloquin, Lony Fabre and Douglas Higginbotham.
Honorary pallbearers were Joshua Bellard and Haydn and Brendan Fabre.
Arrangements were entrusted to Guidry Funeral Home, Inc. in Church Point, (337) 684-5488.
