CROWLEY – The American Legion baseball season kicked off last week with the Crowley Millers earning a 6-3 come-from-behind victory over the Eunice Oilers at Miller Stadium.

The Millers (1-0) will play the role of road warrior in the second week of play, traveling to Rayne for a 7 o’clock contest this evening before heading to Opelousas Thursday to take on the St. Landry Bank Indians at Westminster’s Crusader Field.

Action for the Junior American Legion teams begins next week with both the Crowley High and the Notre Dame squads opening the District 7 East season Monday.

Crowley High will be at home taking on Jennings while Notre Dame will be in Eunice taking on the Oilers. Both games are slated for 6:30 p.m.

The two local teams will also be in action on Wednesday, June 3 with Crowley traveling to Eunice and Notre Dame hosting Jennings.

District 7 East is comprised of just four teams - Crowley, Notre Dame, Jennings and Eunice - with the first and second place teams in the final standings advancing to the Junior American Legion State Tournament in Mandeville July 16-20.
