CROWLEY – Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for John H. Wilson, 52, who died Saturday at his home in Church Point.

Survivors included his wife, Shaun Wilson of Church Point; one daughter, Erika and Blaine Griffin of Church Point; two sons, Justin and Camilla Wilson and Ralph Wilson, both of Church Point; his mother, Dorothy Wilson of Lafayette; two sisters, Nancy and John Merrell of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Anne and Robert Lindell of California; four grandsons, Laine and Caiden Griffin, and Benjamin and Bryson Wilson, all of Church Point.

John was preceded in death by his father, Ralph H. Wilson.

John was on officer of the law for 20 years. He believed in keeping the streets safe. He enjoyed people and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He was the kind of officer that believed that a person needed to learn from their mistakes. He would always explain to you what it was that you did wrong. But at the same time, he did it lovingly and with a smile on his face. He will be one officer that everyone will miss deeply. He will always be remembered and in our thoughts and prayers.

Visitation was held Monday from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

Burial will be in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point.
