CROWLEY – Funeral services for Janice “Peggy” Tanner Baker, 68, of Crowley, who died on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley, were held Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Wheatley officiated the services.

Interment was held at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation took place Friday, June 5 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Saturday, June 6 from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Baker of Crowley; three sons, Randal and wife Katherine Alberts of Ogden, Iowa, Bradley and wife Anne Alberts of Clement, NC, and Matthew and wife Amy Alberts of Madison, NC; one daughter, Linda Brooks of Richaman, Texas; two brothers, Philip and wife Cheryl Larson of Sheldon, Iowa and Lloyd Tanner of Joplin, Miss.; two sisters, Gloria Morris of Sheldon, Iowa and Philys and husband Brad Fear of Everly, Iowa; one step-daughter, Gloria Hebert of Crowley; one step-son, Michael Royer of Crowley; 14 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Baker is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Barbara; one brother, Dennis Larson; and one granddaughter, Denyeil Alberts. She also lived in Angleton, Texas until three months ago. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of Cancer Research and Hospice of Acadiana.

Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of the arrangements.
