Due to the large turnout a year ago for Fan Day at the River Center, both the Exhibition Hall as well as the main arena will be used this year to accommodate fans.
Fans will be able to meet Mike the Tiger, the LSU cheerleaders as well as the volleyball and women’s soccer teams starting at 2:45 p.m. The LSU football team, along with head coach Les Miles and his coaching staff, will be available for autographs and photos from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Some of the giveaways that day include posters, schedule cards, and magnets for the football, soccer and volleyball teams.
In addition, the popular football placard poster will be given away that day. The only other time fans will be able to get a 2009 LSU football placard poster will be at the soccer match against Texas on Aug. 14 at the and the purple and gold volleyball scrimmage on Aug. 24.
Parking for this year’s event will be available throughout downtown. The River Center Parking Garages, located at the intersection of St. Louis and Government Streets, will open at 11 a.m. and will charge $5 to park.
The State Parking Garage, located at the intersection of Third Street and Convention, opens at 8 a.m. and charges $3 for parking. Parking on the streets in downtown Baton Rouge is free on Sunday.
Fan can enter the River Center through the Plaza Entrance, which is located off of St. Louis Street on the east side of the facility. The handicap accessible drop-off area and entrance are located off of River Road on the west side of the River Center.
The following items will not be permitted inside the River Center: strollers, outside food and beverages, coolers and ice chests. The River Center will have satellite concession stands located outside of the facility as well operating concession stands inside the Exhibition Hall once the doors open.
