Kelli is the daughter of Tom and Rhonda Broussard of Rayne and the granddaughter of Hilary and Melba Olinger and the late Elaine and Numa Bertel Broussard, Sr. all of Rayne.
She is a 2003 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, as well as a 2009 graduate of University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Louisiana State University School of Dentistry with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Currently, she is employed by Dr. Shawn Briggs, D.D.S. Family Dentistry as a dental hygienist.
Luke is the son of Lonnie Moody and Lisa Moody of Rayne. He is the grandson of Lou and L.J. Moody and Mary Lee and Raymond Trahan all of Rayne.
He is a 2003 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish. He is also a 2007 graduate of University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a bachelor of science degree in horticulture and was a hurdler for the ULL men’s track and field team. He is now employed by Unipro Business Systems in Lafayette.
For the Nuptial Mass, Tony Olinger, Verna Olinger and Maureen Benoit provided scripture readings while Ronnie and Mollie Trahan presented offertory gifts. The Eucharistic Ministers were Katie Broussard, Ashley Moody and Claire Trahan.
The bride was escorted by her father, Tom Broussard, wearing an ivory, silk sleeveless doupioni gown by Pronovias. The semi cathedral gown featured an empire waist and a gathered v-neck design. Her bridal attire also included a semi cathedral length tulle veil hand made by the groom’s godmother. She carried a bridal bouquet of cream cabbage roses.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister Lauren Broussard. Bridal attendants included Lauren Moody, sister of the groom; Ellen Habetz, Christina Schmid and Jade French, all friends of the bride. The ladies wore custom made pacific blue taffeta floor length dresses of various styles and carried a bouquet of rusty orange star 2000 roses and hypericum berries.
The groom’s brother, Lon Moody, attended the groom as his best man. Groomsman included Scott Broussard, brother of the bride; Nick Nero, Steven Bruner and Brantley Yeager, all friends of the groom.
The bride’s cousin, Nolan Olinger and friends of the couple Jordan Woods, Jared Duplichain, Chris McBride and Eric Broussard ushered wedding guests to their seats.
Attending the event as flower girls were Mackenzie Olinger, cousin of the bride, and the groom’s niece Ava Moody. The girls were accompanied by the groom’s nephew Lon Paul Moody.
For her daughter’s special day, Rhonda Olinger Broussard wore a floor length chocolate brown taffeta dress featuring a ruffled v-neck dress with three-quarter length sleeves, it included a gathered waist band accented by crystal embellishments.
Lisa Trahan Moody wore a black, floor length ensemble featuring a scalloped skirt and v-neck top with rhinestone broach and three-quarter length sleeves for her son’s wedding.
Following the wedding ceremony a reception was held at The Ballroom in Crowley. The weddingcake was a four tiered, round confection with hand sculptured roses. The couple’s initials were monogrammed on the top tier and intricate piping, resembling lace, decorated the middle two tiers.
The grooms cake was a square, three tiered chocolate cake with dark chocolate designs on each of the layers. The cake was topped with chocolate covered strawberries.
Guests from New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Houston, Bridge City, Texas, Youngsville, Houma and Placquemine traveled to attending the special event.
The couple will travel to St. Lucia for their wedding trip. They plan to reside in Rayne upon their return.
A rehearsal dinner was held November 5 at Chef Roy’s in Rayne. The 7 p.m. dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents, Lisa Moody and Lonnie Moody. The menu featured fried shrimp, crawfish fettuccine and ribeyes and was finished by bread pudding dessert.
