Houston wedding claims local interest

Miss Monique Marie Wilson and Mr. Reagan Brown Blaylock were united in the sacrament of holy matrimony on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Saint Anne Catholic Church in Houston. The candlelight double-ring ceremony was officiated by Father John Robbins and scripture readings by the bride’s aunts Barbara Bergeron Finley, Janet Bergeron Theriot, and Cecile Bergeron Tauzin. The ceremony music was provided by organist, Jim Ross and vocalist, Larkin Haddox, friend of the bride. Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant couture gown designed by Priscilla of Boston. The ivory strapless gown of silk satin featured a sweetheart neckline with a fitted dropped waist bodice, which was beautifully re-embroidered embellished with Swarovski crystals and rhinestones. The full A-line skirt fell into a circular embellishment chapel train. To complement the gown, Monique wore a beautiful ivory cathedral veil with rhinestones by Tia Marra of New York.

Following the ceremony the reception was held on the 49th floor of the One Shell Bldg. at The Downtown Club at Plaza. Guests danced to music provided by the Houston based band Klockwork.

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Petroleum Club. Earlier in the day, the bridesmaid’s luncheon was hosted by Cecile Tauzin at the Saint Regis Hotel.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Ray Wilson of Spring, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Wanda Robichaux Bergeron and the late Mr. Robert Mansfield Bergeron of Crowley and Mrs. Lynn Evans Wilson and the late Mr. Ray H. Wilson of Odessa. Texas.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Susan Brown Broyles of Shreveport and Mr. Charles Blaylock of Oil City. He is the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Wallace Brown of Shreveport and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Blaylock of Shreveport.

Mrs. Stephanie Glass Bassett and Mrs. Janel Jenkins Bakk of Houston served as matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Trish Schoen Buller, Mrs. Mary Schoen Woods, Mrs. Kristin Cantrelle Robichaux and Mrs. Danyelle Dupre Wax all of Baton Rouge, Ms. Brooke Blaylock of Shreveport, Ms. Victoria Beard of Houston. Members of the house party were Margaret and Mary Hooper, nieces of the groom and Mrs. Swayze White, friend of the bride. The flower girls were Miss Lilly Blaylock, Miss Morgan Fraser, nieces of the groom, and Miss Isabella Theriot, cousin of the bride.

Mr. Charles Blaylock Jr., brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Curtis Carver, Mr. Kelsey Dean, Mr. Charles Hobbs, Mr. Silas Sarver, and Mr. Tyler Wilson, brother of the bride, all of Houston, Mr. Clay Haney of Atlanta, and Ben Keator of Denver. Ushers were Mr. Michael Bell of Dallas, Mr. Scott Deiss of Houston, and cousins of the bride Mr. John Finley, of Lafayette and Mr. Robert Theriot, of Pensacola, Florida.

The bride is a graduate of Klein High School and Louisiana State University. She was a member of Chi Omegs sorority. She is employed by Abbott Laboratories as a specialist in the neuroscience department. The groom is a graduate of Captain Shreve High School and Texas A&M University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He is employed by Jacobs Engineering in project controls.

Following a honeymoon to Saint Martin, the couple will reside in Houston.
